about me

The picture above is where I am standing at the old Frostville Schoolhouse from my book Marry Christmas. The locations in the book are real but the story is fiction.

I love wholesome, faith based fantasy/romance/cozy mysteries/suspense/adventure, reimagined fairy tales, including classic children stories and nursery rhymes. That is my writing style as well. After losing my husband, I detested romance that was realistic. Fantasy adds magic to stories. Sometimes we all need to escape the horrors and struggles of reality, the same ole same ole. Forget about our troubles. That’s what reading should do.

A spark of love, a tingle of a touch, breathless kisses, an outward laugh, and suspense capturing my body prisoner with thoughts of “oh no, do I want to know,” is something I love to feel in reading. Also, I love learning unique words that we don’t use in normal conversation: E.g.: fopdoodle; levereter. Mostly, I love reading and writing books that leave me feeling happy and inspired in the end, rooting for good vs. evil and keeping Jesus’ presence in my stories. Life can be sad, and the last thing I want to feel after reading, whether that’s reality or not, is deep sadness. No thank you. HEA is my choice. Sometimes just a name can create a story in my mind, like Britanica, for instance, having a learning disability with a name that screams intelligence, or Galaxas and Troid, making me think of other worlds.

There was a time in my life that I couldn’t feel God’s presence and realized I felt abandoned. I was wrong, of course. Andrew Wommack’s teaching has shown me the true heart of God through scripture. I have a newfound love for Jesus, thanks to his teachings. These verses I have written in my book, Dew of Heaven, mean a whole lot to me. Worth the read. Psalms6:1-10.

I am a mother of three and grandmother of eight. In honor of my husband’s death, I drive a firefighter pink convertible Mini Cooper (nothing to do with Barbie-ugh). Nobody is able to teach me how to properly use lay vs. laid, or lie vs lied in a sentence. It can’t be done. Words I’ll never spell right are restaurant, convenience, desperate, and many other words. It’s just a crazy mental block.

I live in SW Florida, love imagination, and love how God used imagination in his real true stories. Like the talking donkey with Balaam in the book of Numbers. You can never have enough chocolate and candy, spaghetti and pizza or coffee flavors. Oh, and Rambo. Love that character. For hours I can get lost in awe at God’s creation.

Working with Melange Books has been a blessing. They know their stuff and are good, decent people to work with, giving authors a chance to be published, even if it isn’t their style of a story. I can’t say enough good things about them.

I’m working on other stories, but these are expressly Christian themed.
